Maine has the second highest percentage of septic ownership in the country, nearly half of all Maine homes use an individual septic system. The EPA warns people that have a lot of extra strain on their system due to parties and frequent gatherings to make sure that guests know what is okay and what’s not okay to flush. Also ensure that any extra vehicles do not get parked on the leach field or drainage area.
